Well, certainly not the first one I've ever given... This is the third speech class I've taken so far. Still, that same feeling of nervousness was back, like it was time for show-and-tell in pre-K! My hands were sweaty, my voice was shaking, and my stomach was knotted up. I thought I was over those feelings, but apparently not. Probably because of the unfamiliar audience?
Anyway, the speech was nothing ridiculous. A 30-45 second masterpiece about my favorite place. It didn't go badly. Everyone else was nervous too, and I made a few new friends through some common interests we expressed. The best part was finding a vegetarian in the class. Aha! Someone I can go out to eat with!
So I came back from Speech, feeling a bit of a high, which probably explains why it took me so long to notice the long line of cops and firetrucks lined up outside my building. Huh? I'm not allowed inside. It's freezing cold out. There's a fire in there? I can't go in? I don't mind. Maybe the heat will help forestall my hypothermia! :I Well, anyway. So I'm stuck out of my building for "a few hours" (is what they told us). I went next door to Jimmy John's, praying they had a least a few vegetables they could throw together into a sandwich for me. And it turns out, praying works. So now I am well-fed and my laptop has.... 2 hours of battery left, so I'll be entertained a while.
Still, there was a fire and a flood... No one was harmed, they say. But is my PS3 okay? D: *fret fret fret*
